Add InboxNest DNS records in Squarespace
Add InboxNest records as Squarespace custom DNS records, including domains moved from Google Domains.
When this guide applies
Use this page when InboxNest identifies Squarespace as the DNS host, including Squarespace-managed domains and many domains that moved from Google Domains. If Squarespace is only the website builder and nameservers point elsewhere, add the records at that other host.
Where to sign in
Sign in to Squarespace and open the domain settings for the domain you connected in InboxNest.
Squarespace DNS navigation
Open the domain’s DNS settings and use Custom records (sometimes labeled DNS records). That is where Host, Type, Priority, Data/Value, and TTL are edited.
Enter the InboxNest records
Copy each InboxNest row from the setup screen. Squarespace often treats a blank host or @ as the root domain.

- Value / Target

- TTL
- Use the provider default, or the TTL shown in InboxNest if one is listed.
Host, Type, Priority, Data, and TTL
- Host matches InboxNest’s Host.
- Type matches InboxNest’s Type (MX, TXT, CNAME).
- Priority is used for MX records.
- Data / Value matches InboxNest’s Value.
- TTL can stay on the Squarespace default unless InboxNest shows a required value.
What not to delete
Do not clear the entire DNS set. Website and Squarespace-managed records should stay. On Direct MX, replace only the MX records InboxNest asks you to change. On forwarding, keep existing MX records.
Return to InboxNest
Save the custom records, return to InboxNest, and click Verify setup.
Troubleshooting
If you recently moved the domain from Google Domains, confirm you are editing the Squarespace-managed DNS for that domain and not an old Google DNS screen. Then retry verification. See DNS troubleshooting.
