Add InboxNest DNS records in GoDaddy
Enter the Host, Value, Priority, and TTL values from InboxNest in GoDaddy DNS management.
When this guide applies
Use this page when InboxNest identifies GoDaddy as the DNS host, or when the domain’s nameservers point at GoDaddy. If the domain is only registered at GoDaddy but nameservers point elsewhere, add the records at that other host instead.
Where to sign in
Sign in to your GoDaddy account, then open the domain list.
GoDaddy DNS navigation
Open My Products → Domains, choose the domain, and open DNS (sometimes labeled Manage DNS). That is where GoDaddy’s Name, Value, Priority, and TTL fields appear.
Enter the InboxNest records
On the InboxNest domain setup screen, copy each record with the buttons beside Host and Value. In GoDaddy, add a matching record for every row InboxNest displays. Do not type invented MX, TXT, or CNAME values from this public page.
- Type
- TXT
- Host / Name
- the-host-shown-in-inboxnest
- Value / Target
- record-value-shown-in-inboxnest
- TTL
- Use the provider default, or the TTL shown in InboxNest if one is listed.
Host, Value, Priority, and TTL
- Name in GoDaddy is InboxNest’s Host. Use
@when InboxNest shows the root. - Value is InboxNest’s Value / Target.
- Priority is required for MX. Copy the number from InboxNest.
- TTL can stay on GoDaddy’s default unless InboxNest shows a specific value.
What not to delete
Do not delete all DNS records. If you are on Direct MX and InboxNest is replacing inbound mail, change only the MX records InboxNest asks you to replace. If you chose forwarding, leave MX records alone and add only the sending records shown in InboxNest.
Return to InboxNest
Save in GoDaddy, go back to the domain setup screen, and click Verify setup.
Troubleshooting
If verification fails, confirm you edited the GoDaddy DNS page for this exact domain, that Name does not include a duplicated domain suffix, and that MX priority matches InboxNest. Then retry verification instead of deleting records. See DNS troubleshooting.
